Park & Ride car parks are also available and a great way to avoid driving into the city, but Park & Ride bus services do not run after the end of the display.

Roads will be temporarily closed around Winchester city centre and we expect heavy traffic on the night. 

We strongly advise using public transport or parking further away from the display site and going on foot.

  • North Walls at the junction with Andover Road, Stockbridge Road and Sussex Street
  • Hyde Street at the junction with North Walls
  • Hyde Abbey Road
  • Park Avenue
  • Eastgate St turning to Friarsgate (traffic will only be able to go straight on to the roundabout)
  • The Broadway
  • Southgate Street at the junction with Jewry Street 
  • Nuns Road (6-9pm). No public access to River Park/Rugby Club (see Accessibility)
  • Hillier Way to River Park, Park Avenue and Birinius Road (6-9pm)
  • Upper Brook Street (all day)

PAYMENT OPTIONS

BANNED ITEMS

  • Dogs or pets, due to the loud noise and hazards.
  • Scrap wood for the bonfire. We have all the wood we need and source our materials responsibly.
  • Fireworks, sparklers or flares. Wax torches can only be bought and used for High St procession.
  • Drones. Any drone activity will be reported to the police.
  • Alcohol. Drinks will be served on site. Anyone deemed to be heavily under the influence will be refused entry.
  • Camping chairs. These can be trip hazards in the dark.

REFUNDS POLICY

This is a charity event run by volunteers.

We make every effort to put on an amazing Bonfire & Fireworks for everyone. 

We cannot offer refunds of your tickets if, for any reason, you cannot attend the event due to travel issues, personal incidents or any other reason beyond our control.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food and drink or merchandise bought at the event cannot be returned. 

 

If the event is cancelled for any circumstance, the amount you paid for tickets becomes a charitable donation to the Winchester & District Round Table Charitable Trust for our work with the city’s community and good causes
