The 2019 Date has been announced

The date of the annual Winchester Round Table Charity Bonfire & Fireworks has been announced for this year as Saturday 9th November.

With annual sell-out attendance of over 20,000 people, Winchester Round Table is delighted to bring the event back to Winchester for its 61st year, in what has become the city’s largest one-day charity event.

The event starts at 5.30pm at the Guildhall with singing from Winchester Rock Choir, and the spectacle of the torchlit parade will set off from King Alfred’s Statute through the city centre to the River Park Leisure Centre. The Bonfire will be lit at 7.15pm and the fireworks spectacular will start at 7.45pm.

Last year the event raised over £65,000 profit, which directly goes to local people and charities who apply to the Winchester Round Table Community Services Fund.

Charlie Sell, Bonfire Chairman 2019, comments: “Winchester’s Bonfire & Fireworks is a huge event for the city, bringing 20,000 people into the centre, supporting local business, raising the profile of the city, and ultimately creating a large pot of money which goes straight back into helping the local community. We encourage charities and local groups who really need funding to get in touch with us and apply”.

Tickets will be available to buy in advance online from 1st September at www.winchesterbonfire.co.uk where people will be able to find out more details for the event, and will be available from ticket venues throughout the city during October and November.

Standard ticket prices will be at the early bird discount rate of £5 for each person, and the price on Saturday 9thNovember goes up to £7.50 per person. The popular premium tent tickets (inclusive of hospitality drinks) are set at £35 per person.

Winchester Round Table is a social group of 28 young men aged 18-45 who want to make a difference to their local communities, and find lasting friendships. The Winchester Round Table organisation has been running since the 1930’s and nationally, Round Tables raise over £3.3m a year for charity.
